Cochin Shipyard
Cochin Shipyard (CSL) is a government-owned shipbuilding and ship repair company in India. It is located in Kochi, Kerala, and is the largest shipyard in India.

The history of Cochin Shipyard dates back to 1969 when the Government of India decided to set up a greenfield shipyard in the country. The site for the shipyard was chosen in Kochi, as it was well-connected by sea and rail, and had a long history of shipbuilding.

The construction of Cochin Shipyard began in 1970, and the first phase of facilities was completed in 1982. The yard was designed and constructed under technical collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) of Japan.
